Hi wanderers! I am Joana Andrea Subrar, currently studying Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management!
Dating back to December of 1949, the year of its founding, Foundation University began to celebrate this Kasadyaan Festival, formerly called "Mardi Gras." Full of Activties and performances, Foundationites join to celerbate the culture, music, and arts. My friends and I really enjoyed our time both being part of the performances and watching others perform. It was a memorable few days filled with joy and laughter. Please join me as I showcase some of my favorite moments of the Kasadyaan!
My Favorite moments with my friends at Kasadyaan!
We join the mass at SSS Hall and went out to see the buglasayaw dance troupe dancing the cultural that had been performed after ribbon was cut. We explored everything inside especially the booths. We ate and chilled before going back to our room for entourage practice. We helped our Pasundayag dancers prepare because they were going to dance that evening. My mates and I then went to eat and watch Pasundayag, I was having fun watching the different types of genre in the cultural dance. Our department placed 2nd runner-up!
There were a lot of activities and events like singing contests, fashion show, kpop dances and countless more. We watched every event because we were required to even though we were going to do the entourage in the evening. After the events, we stayed in our department suite room to rest and put make up on for the entourage. We went to our room to prepare everything and pray for our Hara and our performance. Then we performed entourage and I was thankful we did it. We watched Hara sa FU until the event ended. We ended up getting top 5 for our Hara. While we did not get aby minor and major awards, but at least we still thoroughly enjoyed the day.
We were getting ready to join Parada and helped to prepare everything specially the props. The parade started and we walked from FPA to Foundation College Green. My and my friends ate in our Queu Bar Booth then after we walked and explore each department booths. We watched the parada dance then there are 3 local bands that got invited by Foundation to perform but before that they started it with fireworks. Then the band started to play we chill for a little and waited for the Wilfreedo Band to play. I brought my camera and took a lot of picture. We enjoyed the night until the event ended. I helped them clean the Queue Bar Booth then after that, we went home.
Feel free to leave a note. It is much appreciated!
